Why us?
Because we’ve been there. Our coaching is different because we don't simply have professional coaching experience, we have lived experience of navigating disability and additional needs within everyday life and professional environments.
One of us has worked as a teacher for over 20 years and has a visual impairment. A coaching qualification completed in 2013 became the beginning of a much deeper understanding of how powerful coaching could be. That experience developed further through working as a Teaching and Learning Coach where we saw first-hand how coaching could help people develop confidence, identify solutions and create meaningful change for themselves.
The other has worked as a police officer for over 20 years, using coaching skills regularly within a demanding professional environment and also using coaching personally to help navigate the challenges that disability can bring to family life.
We have both experienced coaching professionally, personally and within our relationship.
That means we understand that additional needs can create challenges that extend beyond the need itself. They can affect confidence, independence, relationships, work, communication, decision-making and the people around you.
We are empathetic and non-judgemental. We understand how disability-related challenges can leave someone feeling overwhelmed, vulnerable, isolated or misunderstood. Equally we also understand that sometimes people need to be challenged, held accountable and encouraged to take back control.
We don't want to make decisions for you. We want to help you develop the confidence and clarity to make your own. That combination of professional coaching experience, lived experience and genuine understanding of disability is something we believe makes our approach different. We have used coaching to transform from isolation and overwhelm to a place of connection, clarity and empowerment.
